04 / The person behind the productsNew York, with a lot of tabs open.

A builder’s hands.
A people person’s
instincts.

I’m Kanishk. An AI product manager who likes being in the room with customers—and staying until the thing actually works.

Kanishk on the Hudson waterfront at night, with Lower Manhattan behind him
Somewhere between empathy & execution

Hi. I’m Kanishk.

The best part of building?
Watching someone use the thing
without needing you to explain it.

The thread through all of it

Under every number is a customer.
Under every customer is a person.

At AWS, that meant listening to enterprise accounts already on their way out. At Itemize, it meant catching a healthcare customer’s failing claim forms. At home, it meant watching how my grandmother held a phone.

I start there. Then I work backwards to the product, the technology, and the thing we can actually ship.

01 / Empathy

Built for
my grandmother.

Three versions of RahuKaal. Each simpler, until she could use it alone at 75. I get blessings in return.

02 / Listening

Ice cream
in a snowstorm.

Selling is listening until the value is obvious, then saying it plainly. That’s how I approached at-risk accounts at AWS.

03 / Ownership

Master
of a few.

Taking AI from idea to production. Measuring it honestly. Selling what I ship. Breadth makes the whole thing possible.

The journey / 2017 → today

Different scales.
Same instinct.

Cloud. Insurance. Education. AI.
Find the person behind the number.
Then build for them.

05 / The shipping logThe work keeps moving.

Shipped.
Learned. Again.

Small releases, production milestones, and the occasional stubborn bug.

Launched this portfolio: the site you're reading is the demo

live+

I designed the system, wrote every word, and directed AI to build it, plus a chat that only knows my real work. Every claim on this site is a thing that shipped.

RahuKaal: Hindu almanac for any city, both stores day one

in flight+

The daily window Hindu texts say to avoid, set by the sun, plus the sandhya prayer windows, computed for the city you ask about, with elder-first onboarding, full Hindi, and voice callouts. Conceived, designed, and shipped solo, twice: for iPhone and for Android. Its page here computes your own Rahu Kaal window, live.

SinkZero: one empty-sink photo a night, AI as referee

beta+

Wake up to last night's dishes? Photograph your empty sink each night; a vision model, not the honor system, decides whether it counts. This pass, on device: Lock Screen widget, Live Activity, a rescue override for hard nights, and a flood easter egg for people who find it.

Spotter v1.1.1: point your phone at a machine, get coached

beta+

For anyone nervous to enter a gym: aim at any machine and it tells you what it is and coaches the movement in two or three lines, no stranger to ask. This release: a full design pass, a new app icon, and a stubborn microphone bug hunted down and fixed for good.

Itemize document AI crossed six figures of automated documents a month

shipped+

Scaled from pilot to the production path for enterprise document volume. Human review now touches the exceptions, not the pipeline.

Itemize document AI: reads invoices and forms, live in one week

shipped+

Enterprise banks, payment processors, and healthcare customers needed financial documents classified at production accuracy. One product manager, one week: an LLM ensemble behind a deterministic hard gate (several AI models read each document and vote; a fixed rule decides what is automated and what a person checks).

Kanishk / Selected work
Kanishk / The full story
Kanishk at the Hudson waterfrontAbout me

The person comes first.

I’m an AI product manager in New York, and I ship end to end. At Itemize that means document AI reading millions of documents a year. On my own time, it means apps I conceived, designed, and built myself. B2B or B2C, the person at the far end of the screen is who I build for.

Empathy is a translation job.

My grandmother couldn’t tell me what she needed from an app. So I watched how she held her phone. Three versions of RahuKaal followed, each simpler than the last, until she could use it without me in the room. My parents now use it to check the day’s windows for family in another timezone. I get blessings in return—the only review I set out to earn.

Non-technical stakeholders are the same problem in a different room. You know a requirement has landed when they stop describing and start correcting: that line, but change “daily” to “per shift.”

Ice cream in a snowstorm.

Selling, to me, is listening until the value is obvious, then saying it plainly. At AWS, the buyers were enterprise accounts already on their way out the door. I retained at-risk accounts and upsold Enterprise Support, growing portfolio revenue 206% year over year. Cost-optimization sessions across 25 enterprise accounts saved clients a combined $72M.

Jack of all trades. Master of a few.

Discovery, PRDs, prompts, evals, store submissions, cost reviews: I’ve done all of them, often in the same week. The few I’d claim as mastery are shipping AI products end to end, measuring them honestly, and selling what I ship.

At Itemize, I still audit random production documents for about two hours a day. Shipping isn’t the end of the job. That habit caught a healthcare claim-form failure before the customer did.

How I ship.

I’m a product manager who ships by directing AI. The craft is deciding what to ask for, what to reject, and what must be verified.

01 Listen

Start with a person and the moment they’re in.

02 Define

Write the PRD for both the CEO and the model.

03 Direct

04 Verify

05 Launch
